Pet Professional Guild Welcomes Local Pet Care Professional Jake Le Roux of Social Dogs Club as Newest Eligible Member

VICTORIA, BC – [September 22, 2026] – The Pet Professional Guild (PPG), an international member association for pet training and behaviour professionals, has announced that Jake Le Roux of Social Dogs Club, located in Victoria, BC, has met the required exacting standards for membership and has therefore been named its newest member.
PPG was founded in 2012 to represent pet industry professionals who are committed to force-free, science-based, humane training and pet care philosophies, practices, and methods. PPG members understand “force-free” to mean that equipment such as shock, prong, and choke collars, and methods that include the use of pain, force, or fear are never used in the training, management, or care of a pet.
PPG is currently the only professional pet industry member association in North America that advocates strictly for force-free training and pet care. It requires that all members adhere to its Guiding Principles and Code of Ethical Conduct. Both documents are available on the organization’s website, ensuring that any pet owner using the services of a PPG member can be confident in the methods and philosophy their chosen professional will implement when caring for their pets.
“As a PPG member, my clients can be certain that my care and handling methods are based on the most recent scientific research and knowledge available, and that they focus on the physical, mental, environmental, and emotional well-being of their pet,” said Le Roux. “This ensures that every interaction I have with a client’s pet contributes to their welfare as part of an integrated, holistic approach. These methods are incredibly effective, fun, and, most of all, safe. I look forward to providing peace of mind to pets and their owners throughout Greater Victoria and Saanich and am delighted to have the support of PPG as I do so.”
As pet ownership continues to increase in Greater Victoria, the number of businesses providing products and services to the pet-owning public is growing rapidly.
“Because the pet services industry is largely unregulated, it can be difficult for the pet-owning general public to understand the differences between the many training and pet care methods available,” explained PPG president Niki Tudge. “Even the terminology used to describe these can be confusing and misleading. At PPG, we feel the pet-owning public needs an educational resource to help them understand the differences in methods and techniques available and make informed decisions for their pets. PPG clearly defines the philosophies, methods, and techniques its members use, so pet owners can be confident that members will provide services in accordance with our stated philosophy and guidelines.”
